Parisian Boutiques

September 7, 2009

Paris ShopsMy trip to Paris was amazing and it was all I expected it to be. Everywhere I went I couldn’t believe how picturesque the shops and restaurants were. Lucky Magazine has a great guide to Paris shopping by arrondissement, which was easy to use and had some obvious places and some not-so-obvious neighborhood boutiques. I didn’t do much shopping besides window shopping though that was fulfilling enough… Though I had to pick up Christmas presents and one boutique solved all my problems:  Tumbleweed, a gift shop in the Marais that has been around for 20 years and is owned by an American from Pennsylvania.  She carries a very cute selection of children’s slippers and toys as well as beautiful bags by a local designer using photos of Paris boulangeries and shops.

Paris Bags from TumbleweedBesides the Marais which has many boutiques I already knew of (IRO, Antik Batik, American Retro) I also loved the area around Saint Eustache in the second arrondissement. There was a lovely fresh farmers market there on Sunday and the boutiques in the surrounding area were very cute (and included Manoushagnes b. and Kabuki). Paris Shops 2
