Reading a book a day sounds like a challenge but a recent NYTimes article profiles a 46 year-old former environmental lawyer from Westport, CT who has done just that for the past year. Nina Sankovitch reads mostly “high-intensity fiction” 250-300 pages (out of necessity) and started her journey with “The Elegence of the Hedgehog” by Muriel Barbery. Ms. Sankovitch reviews each book on her blog, www.readallday.org.

I can’t say how jealous I am of her persistence! Although she says she’s had to give up several of her daily pleasures like gardening, clothes shopping and time with friends, this still sounds idyllic to me! Well, at least now we know it’s possible…
